That is what I thought, but he seems insistent that he has to go to Syria or Jordan first, with the children, to get a plane fly to the UK.dyaoko wrote:kirkuk is not a very safe city, because it is not under Kurdistan Regional Government's control .
Kirkuk is close to Sulaymaniah (may be 2 horus by car) and there is a road to sulaymaniah , the best way is ,
to go to Sulaymaniay by car, and then in sulaymainah you have two ways
going by airoplane to europe through sulaymaniah airport, or going by land to Turkey . (turkey is better than syria I guess)
but make sure the childern dont go to Baghdad from kirkuk... kirkuk baghdad road is full terrorists...and baghdad is very insecure city... the best way is to go to sulaymaniyah .

The reason I'm asking for help is that he lives 40 miles away, and doesn't have much knowledge of how to use a pc, but I will see him probably this weekend and get him on to this forum, so as he can explain the situation.AlbaSaab wrote:That is what I thought, but he seems insistent that he has to go to Syria or Jordan first, with the children, to get a plane fly to the UK.dyaoko wrote:kirkuk is not a very safe city, because it is not under Kurdistan Regional Government's control .

What about the journey from Arbil/Sulaymania, to Kirkuk by road; is it safe?Diri wrote:As kak Dyaoko stated - the best solution would be to go by plane from London to Sulêmaniye - and then by car to Kerkûk... That is the safest route both ways...
You could also travel to Hewlêr (Arbil) by plane - from London... And then by car to Kerkûk... Hewlêr, Sulêmaniye and Duhok are 100% safe... Nothing to fear...
Or - he could go by plane to Istanbul/Ankara - and then another plane to Amed (Diyarbakir) in North Kurdistan - and then drive to South Kurdistan (Iraqi Kurdistan) by taxi/car... That is the second safest route...

There isn't a problem getting a flight, as far as I know; it's the journey to and from Kirkuk. I don't understand why he says he has to go to Syria or Jordan to catch a flight.dyaoko wrote:kak diri her friend's childern are in kirkuk (they dont want to go to kirkuk) they want to go out of kurdistan to britain .
by my idea , the only un-safe travel will be kirkuk -sulaymaniay, (they should hire a trustable KURDISH taxi ) then as they arrive in sulaymaniay they can decide what to do next , they have several options and all of them are secure (because they are in Kurdistan now and now they are safe)
- take a plane in sulaymaniah airport and if sulaymaniay airport didnt have the right flight they must go to the other kurdish city -Hewler (arbil ) -
and if they want to go by car, it will be also ok but not as safe as flight and they have several options , turkey jordan syria ...or may be even Iran .(some go to tehran and fly from there to london) ,
I am sure they can always ask kurdish peopel's help in sulaymaniah to advise them .

Ok, thank you.Diri wrote:Yeah - the road between Kerkûk and other Kurdish cities is fairly safe...
No incidents there... Just south of Kerkûk... But also a lot in the city itself...
How come he HAS to go through ARAB states?

I have no idea why he thinks he has to go the OTHER way! Lol. I will ask him tonight on msn.

I think they have Iraqi documents, so aren't allowed to get visas for Kurdistan. Is the road safer to Turkey, than the road to Syria?kardox wrote:if they have Iraqi passports they can either travel to dubai or turkey, no visa is required. the road between Kerkuk and hewler(erbil) is pretty save. And if they have UK/EU visa they can travel to either London, Copenhagen, Frankfurt directly. Dint go to Syria or Iran, that's my advice.
