Israeli Brings Violence to Paris: a Pet is Murdered, a Girl

PostAuthor: Emmunah » Fri Mar 25, 2005 8:14 am

Okay, we were talking about jokes and how they dont' translate well. I know there are some good ones though and I wish to collect them. There are stories about what it's like to be a Kurd or a Jew or an Iraqi during these troubled times, some of them must be funny in all languages. Sometimes when the trouble gets to be too much, laughter is the only medicine. Do you have "stand up comedians"? What do they say? I read of a stand-up comedian who told stories that were very funny about war once, I just can't remember where it was I read it.

Here is a Jewish joke about how we can't win, no matter what we do

A guy in Paris sees a pit bull attacking a toddler. He kills the pit bull and saves the child's life.

Reporters swarmed the fellow. "Tell us! What's your name? All Paris will love you! Tomorrow's headline will be: "Parisian Hero Saves Girl from Vicious Dog!" The guy says, "Well, I'm not from Paris.

Reporters: "That's OK. Then the whole of France will love you and tomorrow's headline will read: "French Hero Saves Girl from Vicious Dog!"

The guy says, "I'm not from France, either."

Reporters: "That's OK also. All Europe will love you. Tomorrow's headlines will shout: "European Hero Saves Girl from Vicious Dog!"

The guy says, "I'm not from Europe, either.

Reporters: "So, where ARE you from?"

The guy says, "I'm from Israel."

The next day's headlines read:

"Israeli Murders a Dog, Leaves a Girl Bleeding!"

"Israeli Brings Violence to Paris: a Pet is Murdered, Girl Wounded"

"Israeli Attack: One Dead, a Wounded Toddler Rescued".

It could apply to Kurds too in other places huh? Like TURKEY! How did a country get named after a stupid bird, or a stupid bird get named after a country anywa? No offense, but...one wonders no?

Since this is the place for jokes I should tell one as well.

A kurd and a Turk are sentenced to death. They are each given a last wish. The Kurd doesn't take much time to think. He simply asks that he should be allowed to see his mother before being executed. The judge finds this wish reasonable so he agrees to grant his last wish. Then he asks the Turk for his last wish, The turks thinks for some time and declares his last wish; 'don't grant the Kurd his last wish'

this joke was in turkish, I think it best describes the relationship between Kurds and TUrks.

Very good one
Also a turk sentenced to death (by the way there is no death penalty anymore) will certainly be a leftist...so friend of kurds, or at least not nationalist :P

No matter how leftist, a persons political stance doesn make up for the degree of tolerance the person has - nessecarily... But anyway...

Here the ultimate Israeli right-winger adopts perfectly leftist/ progressive rhetoric for his goals:

Very curious read, actually.
