Kurd & Turks clashed in Istanbul

Groups of supporters and opponents of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, clashed in Istanbul’s Zeytinburnu district Wednesday night, the latest incident stemming from a PKK attack that killed 13 soldiers last week.

The clashes began around midnight and continued until morning. One group of anti-PKK protesters threw stones at the local branch of the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party, or BDP. Police later intervened, spraying pepper gas on many of the protesters.

The windows of some apartments and businesses in the area were broken in the melee.

The violence came one day after a similar incident in the same neighborhood after a group of pro-PKK demonstrators shouted slogans in favor of the banned group. The group was confronted by others from the area, leading to a clash that resulted in a number of businesses and cars being set ablaze. One PKK supporter narrowly escaped a mob attack when he was removed from the area by police.

Racism is so normal in Turkey, it is like everyone's National Duty to be Ultra Racist , it makes me worried because when USA talks about Turkey, they talk about it as a model of democracy , I am fraid, it is a Factory of Racism, I wish someone in the international community would pay attention to that, it is not just a problem for Kurds ,
it is problem for EU, Germany, Armenia, Greece , Everyone !

I said turkey is a factory of racism, it produces racism I didnt sepcifiy Turkish or Kurdish racisim . obvisouly there is something wrong in Turkish education system, everyone is so hostile toward another ethnic.

As far as I know, the government that takes care of education and media is a Turkish government not a Kurdish one . and Turkish
problem is not just with Kurdish people, they hate every one on the planet.

you go to Kurdish forums and or go to a Kurdish game club and say you are from Turkey , see the results .
then go to a Turkish forum or club, and say you are from Kurdistan , and see the result , it is really easy to experiment, do it and see the results and compare ,

Have you read what is said about me here? I mean in Turkey, regionalism exist. Kurds do not like people from Trakia. And people from black sea do not like Kurdish. British do not like Africans. Russians do not like Turks. I mean you can't have a statement like specifying Turkish.


And for example, if you say Turks hate americans. That is not necessarily because of the race or ethnicity. They are critical on US policies. Or I don't like Israel. That does not mean I am antisemitic. Like I said. Your understanding of racism has flaws.

it is interesting to tell you, that turks of Iran are not as racist as turks of Turkey , so I dont say Turkish DNA is Racist, i say Turkish system encourages racism .

I wasn't referring Iranian Kurds particularly. I was referring Kurds in Iraq and Turkey hating Iran as they occupied Iran. And they might have valid reason. If I was a Kurd, I would have a reasonable dislike against Kurdish. Racism is everywhere. Every individual has a potential to be racist equally. I am not sure if i believe you but you could be biased about yourself.

OK, you clarify the comments little better. Sorry for jumping the conclusion. Yes, I admit the system would generate this but that is not any different from anyone. If Kurdish Militants are attacking Turkish people and Kurdish people living in Istanbul celebrating or supporting the PKK fight, it is only human nature to have a reaction to Kurdish. And that is not any different from Kurdish. I guess we have an agreement on this.

I can tell you southern kurds are also very nice with all forigens , they never show hatred to any specific ethnic, even persians and turks, infact persian singers make concerts in South Kurdistan and they love it there , Kurdish people have warm hospitality , Your ethnic is not question when you are a guest of a Kurd . (you are welcome to try it )

but my preception of Turkish racism is my many experiments online, Go to any Turkish Chat site, say Hi I am from Kurdistan, everyone will attack you . there is so much hate inside citizens of Turkey .
and also if you visit turkish forum there is so much hate about everything, greeks, armenians, kurds , americans, israelis ,
in turkish forums there are many videos of hatred that people post and I can not even Bear to watch them, videos of behading animals , humans , they seem to enjoy it , I never see such stuff in Persian, or Kurdish forums . Turkish system is generating Hatred and Brutality among ethnics . I think that systems needs a big change to produce a little bit love for humans, it is not really a competition to say Which Language is best language and there is no need to eliminate other people's languages , all languages are Human Heritage, Turkish , Kurdish , ... we are all Humans, that system needs to promote that . instead of One Country, One Ethnic, One Language !!!

first of all , I dont know about the details, but from the news I hear that kurds are happy of their results in the ellection and happy of their declration of Self Democratic Automeny thing (I personally think taking 5% of the parliament seats is not a big deal but people are happy so what ? )

and I personally never cheer anyone's death, even my enemies .
