Militarily it wouldn't make sense, since I see Russia as a future exporter of weapons to us. Politically we'd be in an even more messed up position, all the Arabs.

all the arabs have relations , and when turkey had close cooperation i didnt see any arab country bark at turkey ? and we can have similar ties like they have with Azerbaijan .

Well look I'm not Pro-Zionist as you know, I just don't agree with certain things. I have nothing against Jews. If were talking about normal bilteral ties, then fine by me, if were talking regular political and economic relations, that is also fine. I however don't want my government kissing the hands of any other governments. Thats what happens in any alliance, where there is one very strong ally, and one very weak one.

When turkey had close relations with Israel against their own morals they gave all sort of advance military gears and tech to the Turks ! , I didn't see the Arabs hate Turks! not then and certainly not now !! Its all bull, Arab states don't care about Palestinians they have actually sold her out in the past, the Palestinians themselves sold their lands to the jews and now they want it back for free ! Even the so called Arab league conference in the past and the one in Iraq ended up with releasing a statement condemning Israel and nothing more.

Having said all that, we are not too weak as you put it , economically we are strong in the region and super powers now count on us when making decisions , so a strong relations with Jews will lead to stronger ties with the Americans , but stronger ties with Russia won't lead us to having future arms deal with them simply bcoz Iran wouldnt like that.

Id rather the Chinese than the Russians as we all know remember the republic of mahabad.

russia has refused selling us weapons [Barzani's recent order]. and we are not the same as 1991 , we now have proven oil and as reserves , we extract , export and sell oil and gas ourselves. we are building our own oil pipeline .
