But, both positions are weak.
If the best Kurdish music are those created by those not living anymore, that means we'll be listening to the SAME songs for .... EVER!
However, if you do not appreciate the old styles then you cannot create new Kurdish music because you will not have mastered how to convey the Kurdish spirit.
I think that the older kurdish music should be made models for good Kurdish music but musicians should be able to adapt those Kurdish motifs and create original NEW music.
Yes, Sivan, Ciwan, and Cizrawi can be enjoyed by the same ear!
