Perwaz Hussein on Arab Idol

PostAuthor: Londoner » Fri Apr 19, 2013 7:53 am

Mazhary Khaliqy sung this song long ago. Wrongly Payamner.com stated that the song was from her husband.

They all completely loved her. And I have to say that she is great and congratulations to her for winning the Arab Idol. Her voice and talent is off the charts and with beauty and class. Thanks for sharing this Londoner. I was proud of her and this is the Kurdish soft power. And Nubahar I'll try to translate what they said, briefly (its not exact but it will work, my mobile device does not work well on this site):

First she said that her daughter, I think Kona, was born in the sixth month, thats why she chose #6.
After she was done, they asked do you know were she is from, several times, while the croud was going crazy.
The first lady, with a Gulf arab accent said babal and hanging gardens, then Iraq while the guy (Ragheb Alama) said Kurdistan.

Then Ragheb said that he was so pleased that she came from Kurdistan and that he said that she combined or shared the artistic map of Kurdistan and the artistic map of the Arab world. He likes Kurdistan and he is pleased to have her there because of that. (btw, he also wanted herctovsing in Kurdish instead of Arabic)

The the second lady (Nancy Ajram), said she loved it so much and she wants to know the words and wants her to teach her a Kurdish song.

Tge last guy, Egyptian accent, said that he and everyone has learned from her.

from the land of hanging gardens, then she said Iraq and Kurdistan, the

I think this team belong to 1960s , called 'Rasheed' team' employed by official broadcasting authority in Baghdad. If not all, most its members were not Kurds, they were mainly Arab artists.

You surprise me :-o

I thought that all the artists on that youtube channel were Kurdish. Perhaps the Baghdad broadcasting authority did not want to use real Kurds and though that people would not know the difference

I was listening to the same song by Mazhery Khaliqy a few minutes ago. It is made up of three parts, each part made up of four lines. Perwas is singing only the first part two and half times :-D . In the middle she sings the first two lines in Arabic singing style, which I think called 'mewal'.

Someone knows what Alham al Shamsi (the Kuwaiti singer ?) told about Kurdish singer in that show ? Kurds are furious on twitter but don't quote her.

Before I thought this song was translated from Arabic To Kurdish. But now I have discovered it is not so. This song is a real Kurdish song, written by the famous Kurdish poet 'Peremerd'. The reason for this is because there is another Arabic-Syrian-Lebanese song with an exact music. I heard the Arabic version long before I heard Kurdish version by Mazhary Khaliqi. When for the first time I heard the music of the Kurdish version I thought Mazhary Khaliqi going to sing the Arabic version. Obviously both is different in meaning. The Kurdish version is about the nature as it changes with the arrival of Spring. The Arabic version is about the image of a female. In Arab Idol, wrongly, they say she is going to sing the Arabic version in Kurdish.

Congradulations to Parwaz for making to the final six. She was elimated yesterday sadly, but we are still very proud of her. She has a bright future ahead of her, and we are looking forward for her album.
