nodus tollens
n. the realization that the plot of your life doesn’t make sense to you anymore—that although you thought you were following the arc of the story, you keep finding yourself immersed in passages you don’t understand, that don’t even seem to belong in the same genre—which requires you to go back and reread the chapters that you had originally skimmed through to get to the good parts, only to learn that all along you were supposed to choose your own adventure.

I feel that way myself :?

I am remaking my life, still waiting for the results of my scan, then I will chose another adventure :ymdevil:

Read a thing that makes me laugh, today, about British food and the roots of their Empire (the horrific British food is one of the most common joke that French people tell about our English neighbors, but I ignored that American do that also, for I don't think that American food has something better to be envied in London) :

A decade before I began writing A Game of Thrones, I recall, I attended the British version of the famous Milford Writers. Workshop and submitted a short story for critique. One of the other writers there called it "food porn". But then again, he was British, from the land of boiled beef and mushy peas. I have always suspected that the British Empire was largely a result of Englishmen spreading out across the world looking for something good to it.
A Feast of Ice and Fire, preface by George R. R. Martin.

The book is a mine of Medieval recipes, I will try to test them all.

There are lovely and wonderful dialogues in Tom Sawyer Abroad :

What I wanted to see was a dervish, because I was interested in dervishes on accounts of the one that played the trick on the camel-driver. So we found a lot in a kind of a church, and they called themselves Whirling Dervishes; and they did whirl, too. I never see anything like it. They had tall sugar-loaf hats on, and linen petticoats; and they spun and spun and spun, round and round like tops, and the petticoats stood out on a slant, and it was the prettiest thing I ever see, and made me drunk to look at it. They was all Moslems, Tom said, and when I asked him what a Moslem was, he said it was a person that wasn't a Presbyterian. So there is plenty of them in Missouri, though I didn't know it before.

Now the 3rd season has begun, so you could find easily somewhere the 2 first seasons… or reading the books.

So I am going to test soon all the recipes and perhaps take pics and post them.

Last day of spring today. Tomorrow, rain and cold.

Mah Jong still does not work for me. Probably an anti Steve Jobs's plot.

Heard about Broadchurch : many ppl say it is fine. I have to test : another story of kid's murder. I think that all these TV detective stories are inspired by Twin Peaks.

I practice it since one week.It is surprisingly exhausting.
