I do not blame a kid to chose those colors. I blame the family expose their kids to a socio-political idea. I find the punishment ridiculos also but nobody in here ask the question of "Why those three colors?"
Well as long as if it is not forming a non-existing flag I do not have anything against to red, green or yellow. However if you hang a non-existing country's flag with a provocative message against to Turkish flag you basically piss someones legg in Turkey.
And the trafic lights are still in red, yellow and green : ) (What a clever joke. Ha ha HA.)

But if you enter in many Kurdish houses, in Diyarbakir, Cizre, Mush, Dersim, you'll find these 3 colours everywhere. So what are you going to do ? Exterminate that people ?

North Kurdistan: In one of Batman Province's boroughs, Kozluk (village of "Yanikkaya"), 8 primary school children have been punished with a three day ban from school after making a drawing using the colours Red, Yellow & Green - Kurdish national colours (click link to see drawing)...
The Drawing:
The floor is in red, yellow and green tiles. A rainbow in red, yellow and green bends over an APPLE (red), a PEAR (green) and a BANANA (yellow)...
This is why these 8 children are prohibited from attending school for 3 days...
