Carrot-egged potato salad

I have eaten Carrot-egged potato salad this afternoon, as my main meal, which is my own recipe. The ingredients include potato, egg, carrot, parsley, red onion, crushed black paper, mustard, mayonnaise and a hint of salt.

The potatoes washed and cut to manageable pieces and cooked with an egg. While the cooking was continuing, the carrots, onion and parsley shredded and added to each other. After that, other ingredients added to them. When cooking completed, the egg shredded and the potato skinned and cut to smaller pieces. After that both added added to other ready ingredients and mixed thoroughly and left in the fridge at lest for half an hour before eaten.

That seems tasty. Gonna try it out... :D

Ah biryani. Try this out:

1 potato, cubed
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cups of Basmati rice
1 1/2 cups of frozen corn/peas mix
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 teaspoon of Garam Marsala
Ground black pepper
Salt
Slivered almonds
Sultanas

Heat a little amount of oil in frypan.
Then add potatoes and black pepper, fry til cooked. Put aside.
Soak rice to remove starch, drain water.
Heat oil in saucepan on high heat.
Add rice and mix.
Add turmeric, garam marsala and mix. The longer you mix the rice
in oil at this stage, the better it will turn out.
Add water so that it only covers rice and cook for around 2 1/2 minutes.
Then reduce to low-medium heat. Don't mix at this stage though.
When holes appear in rice, add frozen peas, corn, potatoes and
mix. At this stage, you can add anything you want to the rice such as
pre-cooked beans or any pre-cooked meat etc... and add salt and mix.
Add more water so it's inch above rice. The water will
evaporate as rice cooks. Cook like this for around 13 minutes,
adding little amounts of water to keep rice from drying.
While rice is cooking, heat sultanas, followed by almonds with a very little
amount of oil.
Once rice is cooked, you're ready to serve, dear.
Serve with almonds and sultanas on side dish.

This time consuming preparation is good for a meal cooked only for kings. :D
Nevertheless I will try it sometimes.

zor supas kak Baris - Basmati is my favourite rice, i always use only this one. i can prepare rice "kurdish way" - i lived with kurds for few months, but - shame on me - i never like to cook, so i was not too much interested when boys was in the kitchen. that time they used to cook for me and i didnt think one day i will have to do that myself. the biggest problem that i have with kurdish food is which powders to add - like tumeric for example.
but if only - inshalla ( i am not muslim, i am yezedih) - i will have a bit of free time from work, i will try to make it.
and i completly forget that one of my friends - Shaho - is working in kurdish restaurant in our city. i will go there for course in cooking :D

oh, not only, kak Londoner - i admire my dear friend kak Baris, coz he is good not only in cooking, as i think. he has big knowledge about a lot of things. but of course - cooking is very important in marriage :D

kak Londoner is original Kurd and let me to say its his duty to know some things. but you was born in different country from non-kurdish parents, so your knowledge is different - believe me - accept you i dont know any other person of non-kurdish origin who has so big knowledge about kurdistan (and you know a lot not only about this country as i see). i am serious now, really. as for me you are the only one person from outside Kurdistan, about whom i can say that is kurdish.

By the way, I am from Korea. I had a friend who is from Kurdistan. I think it is very important to make friends all over the world, especiallly for Kurdish..
Now I am a big fan of Kurds and I really hope that Kurdish get back their land.

A few days ago, I saw a documentary about Kurds and kurdistan on TV. The title was : Can Spring come in Kurdistan? (sorry, my English is not good enough to translate smoothly).

kak Baris, can I ask private question? Is the Cat(ur avatar) real? I love cats. Is it possible to have different eye colors ? one is yellow and the other is blue?
when I grew up in a small village, I had lots of cats . I don't have any now, but I still remember them.

If Kak Baris and you don't mind may I answer this question? It is true. They are known as Kurdish cats because they are naturally originated from Van area of North Kurdistan. They also swim and font of plying in water.

Exactly like kak Londoner wrote. i read on one website - few young polish people made a trip to the part of the world where Kurdistan is, they were in all "parts" (i dont like this word) of Kurdistan and they describe their experiences about it. they wrote a lot of nice things about Kurds and Kurdistan, they really like the people and the country. and also they "meet" kurdish van cats and took some pics with them. cats are white with amazing two coloured eyes. my neighbour has one white cat, but its not van one, coz has usuall eyes. unfortunatelly the articles they wrote are in polish language, so you cant read them.
me and kak Baris were very far from your country, dear bleu ciel - we look up at europe and you are from Asia - and thats the best proof that if someone got to know kurdish people - is impressed by their culture and wish to stay with them as a friend.
